New Dave Nestler Cards Released

Somehow I've managed to walk off of the "Bored of Education" painting and decided to paint some other, um, things. I can't wait for the release of the suspense movie, Dave (a thriller about an attractive female artist who paints portraits of women and the mystery lies in how these same women become murdered).

Lights, Camera, and a Ton of Action

You've asked about them, so I've decided to release a few. Here are some shots from the photoshoot for the action shots.



My only wish was that I could have had those little razor blades shooting out from the back of my arms (can we do anything about that, Billy?). . . oh yes, and that it would stop raining.



My amazing++ mother always asked me, "If someone told you jump off a bridge, would you do it?" Of course not, Mom. However, what if a photographer asks me to jump over a two-story railing wearing 3 inch heels? Sorry Mom, you and I never covered that one. I had to do it.



See the "2" in the background? It really was the second story (And no, I will not be posting pics of the landing, but no worries, it was a soft one)!



Lip gloss is essential for destroying villians . . . and to help us shine while we explained to the police we would be "finishing up soon." This shot was taken as I was watching them approach us for the second time.

Nicole McClain is Back . . .

I know, I know, it's been awhile. Forgive me. I appreciate all of you consistently checking back and requesting more updates.

Here is a sneak peak of what is to come. Police approached us twice to warn that we'd better finish soon as we were making a scene with the passers-by. Making a scene? Nah . . . All right, well, maybe a little (good thing they weren't around for the comic book action shots).

My Memoirs of a Geisha: The Latest Photoshoot



Hair pinned and pulled, face painted and powdered, I slipped into a 38-year-old Vietnamese pure silk gown originally crafted and worn by a real Vietnamse woman.

While Geisha women are Japanese, rather than Vietnamese, we wanted to capture the essence of the Geisha women. "Gei" means arts or performance in Japanese. "Sha" means people. Geisha are professional hostesses who entertain guests through various performing arts. Geisha girls and women are not ordinary hostesses and are not prostitutes. Geisha girls and women are trained in a number of traditional skills; Japanese ancient dance, singing, playing a three stringed instrument called shamisen, flower arrangement, wearing a kimono, tea ceremony, calligraphy, conversation, alcohol serving manners, and more. Geisha girls and women are talented Japanese women who patiently go through extensive training.

Young girls who wish to become a geisha girl are usually introduced to an o-chaya through someone who has a connection to the teahouse. The head woman of an o-chaya, called okami, interviews the girl with her parents, explaining how the training goes. If the okami accepts the girl as an apprentice to her o-chaya, the girl can begin her training immediately and live in the o-chaya if she has graduated from a middle school. Once a girl becomes a geisha trainee, she can't quit for 5 to 6 years. While helping with the chores and errands of the house, the young girl learns customs and social skills and begins music and dance lessons.
